Ahaha, that Trader Joe's book sounds like a ride! I may have to look it up (I'm very fond of TJ's, not only as a loyal customer, but also because I remember when they were first expanding into Northern California, and my husband, who was just a friend of the family back then, was the one to introduce us to TJ's, because he was living in Pasadena for grad school at the time and was used to shopping at that original store. So it always felt like having a bit of an inside connection, lol)
Also enjoyed your Tumblr post about the birds of Hawaii. That accidental but ultimately historically justified nene repopulation story is indeed very heartwarming!
